Say Nihao – Chinese Learning (YouTube)
My notes
The best channel I found for going through the HSK books systematically — they cover grammar points with real examples and the explanations actually land. I used this alongside the coursebooks rather than instead of them, but if a grammar point wasn't clicking from the book alone, this was the first place I'd check. Consistent output, reliable quality.
I used the Say Nihao channel systematically alongside each chapter of the HSK coursebook, watching the grammar explanation video before doing the exercises so that the pattern was already contextualised when I encountered it. The explanations are clear without being condescending, and the worked examples include the kind of usage nuance that distinguishes a native-sounding sentence from a grammatically correct but stilted one. If a grammar point from the book wasn't sticking after two days, this channel was the first place I'd check — it consistently offered a framing that the book hadn't.
