听力 Listening

My notes

Any podcast on any topic works — the subject matter is almost secondary to the fact that you're getting extended exposure to natural spoken Chinese. Passive listening while commuting or doing something else is a low-effort way to train your ear to parse characters mentally. I didn't track specific shows I'd recommend, but the format itself is underrated.

Any podcast on any topic works — what matters is extended, uninterrupted exposure to natural spoken Chinese. I treated podcasts as background listening during tasks that didn't require full concentration, which made them a low-cost way to log significant listening hours over weeks without adding dedicated study time. I found myself mentally transcribing sentences I kept hearing, which became an informal way of identifying gap vocabulary. The format is underrated as a study tool because it doesn't feel like studying, but that's also what makes it sustainable.
